About the Role
Working within the global Creative & Digital Studio team, part of the broader global Business Development & Marketing function, the Digital Design Manager will be responsible for driving and overseeing all video, multi-media and animation projects, ensuring they meet the brief, deadlines, and align with the Maples Group brand identity. This role is ideal for a highly motivated individual looking for the next step in their career and to lead a team responsible for a broad range of high impact and engaging projects across the Maples Group. You will work closely with other designers, copywriters and marketers to translate briefs into compelling concepts and polished executions that advance our brand and drive measurable outcomes. As well as leading and developing the Digital Design team, this role will involve being hands-on and producing and editing video content for key projects.
Primary responsibilities include:
Production
- Work with the marketing team members across the Group on producing high quality video, multi-media and animated content across a wide range of internal and external initiatives
- Advise on concept development and storyboarding, and lead on the filming, editing, and post-production to ensure all deliverables meet strategic objectives and brand standards
- Apply advanced knowledge of video editing, motion graphics, and animation tools to produce engaging and visually compelling content
- Stay current with emerging technologies and trends to introduce innovative techniques that enhance the impact and effectiveness of digital assets
Project Oversight
- Oversee all digital design projects from conception to completion
- Ensure all assets meet the brief, are delivered on time, and align with the Maples Group brand guidelines
- Ensure there is a disciplined approach taken to maintain high standards of quality and consistency across all design outputs
- Ensure the Digital Design team provides support across the Group, prioritising workload effectively across time zones
- Continually evaluate and enforce processes, best practices, and technology advancements required to enhance service delivery
- Act as the main point of contact for digital design requests and manage expectations across the business
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Digital Design team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
- Identify training and development needs within the team and facilitate appropriate learning opportunities
- Work with the Digital & Creative Projects Specialist to ensure appropriate organisation and administration
Collaboration and Coordination
- Collaborate closely with the Creative Services team to ensure cohesive and integrated design solutions
- Coordinate not only with the wider BD&M team but also the broader business to understand their design needs and provide appropriate creative solutions
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between the Digital Design team and other stakeholders
Brand Evolution
- Continually assess and evolve the Maples Group brand identity to ensure it remains relevant and impactful
- Stay updated with industry trends, best practices and technology to inform and inspire innovative digital design solutions
- Oversee brand guidelines, alongside the Senior Digital & Creative Services Manager and the Creative Design Manager, to ensure consistency across the development of materials and assets by the Digital & Creative Studio
EXPERIENCE
What You Bring
In addition to indisputably high ethical standards, the ideal candidate possesses the following:
- A bachelor's degree or a similar professional qualification in a creative, digital design or related field is preferred
- Significant experience leading video and multimedia content production
- An expert knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite software tools (especially Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign) and social media platforms
- Experience in UX design and Adobe Express and Firefly is a significant benefit
- Comprehensive grasp of digital marketing channels and tools
- An expert knowledge in digital design and videography alongside strong experience in industry-standard tools
- Confidence in the creative and marketing fields and the ability to execute various timely tasks while working collaboratively and positively
- Experience in team leading and people development
- Experience with knowledge of the finance / legal industry is an asset
- Strong relationship skills and the ability to understand and quickly respond to the needs of internal stakeholders
- Attention to detail and the ability to handle a consistent and varied workload is essential
- A team player with the ability to build relationships with colleagues both locally and globally
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
